Diagnostic test coverage in HMOs
It’s a sad fact that HMOs are not really providing the kind of care that insurance holders need when they are in need of medical assistance.
For instance, most HMOs have limitations on the kind of diagnostic tests they will cover for a patient or insurance holder. This is a very unfair policy because these companies are effectively preventing people from detecting any disease at an early and treatable stage. Something must be done to change this very unfair policy. More diagnostic tests should be introduced into the policy and some new tests, which are being balked at by HMOs, should be included as well.
